We’re just two simple, average guys. We live in the Midwest; we both have a wife and kids; we both work hard to make an honest living. Adam adores the Cubs while Greg is a big Cardinals fan, but other than that, we see the world through very similar eyes.

Our work provided us with an opportunity to travel together. As we drove the highways of America, we talked—about our families, sports, books, and about our country. We realized we shared a great love and respect for this land we call home and a great concern that our home has, for many years, been heading down a winding road of confusion. Sadly, many of our neighbors and friends don’t fully realize where this path is taking us. This book is for them. It’s also for all of our fellow-Americans who know very well the direction of the path, but who aren’t sure what to do to change the course. Adam and I found ourselves asking the same questions they are asking.

So, somewhere in the mountains of central Colorado, in a rented Ford Taurus, we decided to put our thoughts and answers into a book. We believe it’s a book that can change America. The principles detailed in these pages can help straighten this twisted road and get America back on track on such issues as Taxes, the Economy, Iraq, Immigration, Abortion, Health Care, even Freedom itself.

Why another book dealing with these issues—aren’t there already hundreds of them stacked on bookstore shelves? Yes, but most of them are written by politicians, celebrities, and media icons. We’re just two simple guys from Illinois. We are not experts, we don’t host a talk show or hold a political office, and we’re certainly not famous. We’re just like you. We eat cheeseburgers, listen to good music, and we want a better life for everyone in this land we love. We think most of you do, too.
